Applied Acoustics Systems a été fondée en 1998 et est basée à Montréal au Canada. AAS est une compagnie privée qui se spécialise dans le développement de produits audio innovants pour les musiciens, post-producteurs et designers sonores professionnels. Le synthétiseur modulaire Tassman, produit phare d'AAS, a été le premier synthétiseur logiciel basé sur la modélisation physique. La gamme de produits AAS est distribuée mondialement grâce à un réseau de détaillants, des ventes directes et une boutique en-ligne.

Inspirés par les recherches effectuées dans le cadre de leur doctorat, Marc-Pierre Verge et Philippe Dérogis ont fondé Applied Acoustics Systems en 1998 à Montréal.
